Jan Marini Skin Research has developed a brand new peel system and we have it! It's called the Refine Peel. This peel is a combination of salicylic, lactic and citric acids with a highly concentrated retinol activator. The retinol activator contains additional peptides and antioxidants.
To achieve the best results the peels are done in a series of three about four weeks apart. It is also vital that Jan Marini skin care products are being used at home 2-3 weeks prior to the peel and during the peel process, while the skin is resurfacing.
This peel is perfect for clients who are concerned with fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and acne.
Today we tested the Refine Peel on one of our estheticians, Aimee Pennington. The photo above is Aimee before the application of the Refine Peel.
The skin is double cleansed and prepared for the application of the Refine Peel. Frosting of the skin may occur after the peel is applied. The peel and retinol activator are not removed.
Aimee experienced mild stinging at first. Her skin had a "pins & needles" sensation. She stated that her skin felt hot at times throughout the peel application process. Aimee had minimal frosting around her nose and redness on her cheeks. Redness also developed on the area around her nose and mouth.
The redness lasted for about an hour after the peel. We expect her skin to show signs of resurfacing around the second or third day post peel. We will keep you updated on Aimee's progress over the next 5 days.
If you are interested in the Refine Peel System you may contact your esthetician at our studio. Aimee, Teresa, and Christy are all happy to answer any questions you might have.
